Whosyer Con

Over Spring Break, my host family and I went to the so called "Whosyer Con", which is a Gaming Convention. The people here call themselves "Hoosiers" which pronounced the same way as "Who's y'er"which is a little play with words. Technically it should stand for "Who is yours", I think, which would be a bad grammar for "which is yours" asking, 'what your favorite game of the convention is.

The convention is mostly about playing games (like strategy board games like Munchkin or deck building games like Dominian) with other people. Trying out new games is a good way for companies to introduce and advertise their games. But also the old Classics like "Settelers of Catan" or other games you could borrow from the game library were played quite a lot! Also role playing games like D'n'D (Dungeons & Dragons) found their way into the arcades.
During the night it is a tradition to play "Are you a Werewolf?/ Werewolf". It is a different role playing game than the one I knew from summer camps back in Germany. I can get really intense with all those special cards!

And of course they had a vending hall. There were so many interesting things to look at! I have to admit that I spend hours there ... ^^' hehe

All in all it was a pretty fun experience! At first I didn't really know how to fit in but after a short time I found the connection and started to enjoy it!

On the road and ready to play some games ... ;D

Herzliche Grüße in Vorfreude Dein Vati
