Staatskongress

This saturday, my host sister and me had to get up pretty early. 5:50 is way too early for a saturday but it was totally worth it because we were going to the annual Staatskongress of Indiana's University "Ball State". Groups of German classes all over Indiana came and experienced a whole day of Germanness! Lifesize "Mensch-aergere-dich-nicht!", talking about Silvester and Christmas in Germany (so culture), writing a 'Diktat' in competition (for the advanced people) or even learning about the vienna "Opern Ball" and learning how dance the first steps; everything was included it seemed like.

I think so much German in one day I wouldn't even get that on one day in Germany ... XP

We got to watch a beautiful sunrise!

The arrival at Ball State University

Our two German teachers: Frau Dwyer and Frau Phillips!

How some people walked around ...

... and of course: the men.

Us working in the first round on the quiz in the Quiz Bowl.

We got our lunches ...

Some kids were really talented and creative!

The gallery

Our group with some random people, we just took a picture together. while we were waiting on the final Quiz Bowl to start.

Here you were able to spend your "Sprechgeld"for all kinds of things ...

Having to head home already ...

Finally, we got back to school! (It was pretty but darn cold outside, brrrrr!)
